An infographic claiming that over 500 prominent business leaders were invited to the G20 India Gala Dinner hosted at Bharat Mandapam on September 9, 2023, is being shared on social media. The post claims that business leaders including Gautam Shantilal Adani and Mukesh Ambani were on the list of invitees for the special dinner.

The post reads: “500 businessmen including Ambani and Adnai invited for G20 Dinner. The G20 Summit will be held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, which has been renovated at the cost of Rs 2500 crore.”

In response to the infographic and an article by Reuters claiming prominent business leaders have been invited to the dinner, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) confirmed that the claim is misleading and stated that no business leaders were invited to the dinner.

“This claim is Misleading,” PIB Fact Check wrote on its X timeline, attaching one such media report.




Regarding international attendees, notable leaders such as US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are among those who were present at the G20 Gala Dinner.

Thus, it is confirmed that industrialists were not invited to the dinner held in connection with the G20 Summit. Therefore, the claim is based on misleading information.
