Fact Check: Viral Video Claiming Aishwarya Rai Confronted PM Modi at Sai Baba Event Is a Deepfake

At the birth-centenary celebration of spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered a powerful speech calling for unity, saying, “there is only one caste, the caste of humanity; only one religion, the religion of love; only one language, the language of the heart; and only one God, who is omnipresent.” She expressed deep devotion and gratitude for Sai Baba’s enduring teachings, noting that even a century after his birth, his principles of compassion, service, and love continue to resonate worldwide.

Meanwhile, a video of Aishwarya Rai has gone viral on social media, claiming she confronted Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her speech. The viral clip alleges she addressed national security, saying, “I want to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi why we lost six jets to Pakistan, why we lost four Rafales, two S-400 systems, and 300 soldiers.” Here is a screenshot of the viral claim.

The claim is false. The audio in the viral clip has been edited.

To verify, we searched Google for Aishwarya Rai’s complete speech from the event. We found an 8-minute excerpt published by ANI. The official YouTube channel of Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam also streamed the full event live.

At the start of her speech, she expressed deep devotion and gratitude, reflecting on how Sai Baba’s presence, principles, teachings, and compassion continue to resonate. She thanked Prime Minister Modi for being present, saying his attendance brought sanctity and inspiration to the occasion. The actress also spoke of her spiritual roots, noting that as a former Bal Vikas student, she learned the five D’s: Discipline, Dedication, Devotion, Determination, and Discrimination. She concluded with a message of universal humanism: “There is only one caste, the caste of humanity; only one religion, the religion of love; only one language, the language of the heart; and only one God, and he is omnipresent.”

Nowhere in her speech does she mention the army, Rafale jets, Operation Sindoor, Pakistan, or any security-related issue. 

We also found multiple media reports covering the event and her speech and none of them mention anything like the viral claim.

We closely analysed the viral video to check the AI involvement. In several parts, her lip movements do not match the audio. We ran the video through the Resemble AI, a deepfake detector, which confirmed that the voice in the clip was AI-generated. This clearly indicates that the circulating video is a deepfake.

Therefore, the video claiming that Aishwarya Rai confronted the Prime Minister about Operation Sindoor at a public event is a deepfake.
