After Operation Sindoor, the Government of India plans to send teams of political leaders, former diplomats, and experts to important countries of the world to explain India’s viewpoint on the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent clashes with Pakistan. The Government plans to form 8 separate groups to reach out to regions like Europe, North America, West Asia, and the Global South. More clarity about these visits is expected after a short while. Among the parliamentarians who are expected to be roped in for this outreach are Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, the current chair of the parliamentary standing committee on external affairs, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi etc. This decision of outreach is important because tons of false narratives are in circulation to spread panic among the common people. Telugupost debunked a lot of misinformation spread related to the India–Pakistan tensions.
Amidst all this, a video shows a vehicle passing through an airport with damaged aircraft lying on the runway. This video is circulated with the claim that it shows Noor Khan airport in Pakistan, which was destroyed by the attacks by Indian armed forces. The text seen on the video “Bharat ke javano ne Pakistan ke Noor Khan airport ke Naksha hi badal diya”
Here is the archive link of the claim.
Fact check:
The claim is False.
When we extracted keyframes from the viral video and searched using Google reverse image search, we found an Instagram post published by a page named africanaviators_official on March 31, 2025 with the caption explaining the situation. The caption goes as “Sad visuals of the Khartoum International Airport (KRT/HSSK), Sudan, which show the destruction of a large number of aircraft on the apron during the clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in May 2023. The Sudanese army has announced the recapture of Khartoum International Airport from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), marking a key travel infrastructure gain in the country’s two-year civil war. Sudan, a country rich in history, culture, and resilience, our hearts are heavy with the knowledge of the challenges Sudan faces today. The ongoing civil war has brought immense suffering to its people, and it’s impossible to ignore their courage and strength amid adversity. While we cherish this personal accomplishment, we want to use this moment to bring awareness to Sudan’s plight. Let’s remember the families affected, support humanitarian efforts, and pray for peace to prevail in this beautiful land. #DontForgetSudan #Sudan #PortSudan #Sudanese”
Another Instagram user also shared this video, stating that it shows Khartoum Airport in Sudan.
According to a video report published in The Guardian, at the end of March 2025, the Sudanese army took full control of Khartoum from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which it had been fighting since April 2023. After seizing several key sites across Sudan's capital, the army forced the RSF to retreat, marking a critical turn in the country’s civil war. Video footage from the capital shows a city devastated by two years of fighting, which has left many of Khartoum’s most important landmarks badly damaged, where we can also see the damaged aircraft and the airport.
We also found other reports where Sudan’s army shows the damage done by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces using a drone attack. According to the army, an airbase, a cargo warehouse, and some civilian facilities were targeted in Port Sudan.
Therefore, the viral video does not show the destruction of Noor airport in Pakistan, but shows destruction of the Khartoum airport in Sudan due to the attacks of the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in March 2025. The claim is False.
