Fact Check: AI Video Falsely Shows Jeep Hanging on Delhi–Gurugram Expressway

Social media has become one of the fastest and most powerful mediums for making videos go viral. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube allow users to share content instantly with millions of people across the world. While this rapid sharing helps in spreading information quickly, it also increases the risk of misinformation. Sensational or misleading videos often attract more attention, encouraging users to share them without verification. As a result, false claims can spread widely within a short time, creating confusion, panic, or misunderstanding among the public.
As per a report, Police Inspector Abhishek Pandey, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Lamjung, 74-year-old Mal Kumari Gurung of Kwhlosothar Rural Municipality-4 died in the incident. Of the 10 passengers on board, seven were injured. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Amid this, a video went viral on social media. In the clip, a black Jeep is seen hanging from a hoarding board. The signboard displays “Delhi, Gurugram, Jaipur – EXIT.” The video claims that a Jeep Wrangler was hanging upside down from a highway sign after falling off a transporter on the Delhi–Gurugram Expressway.

When we searched using relevant keywords, we did not find any news reports published by prominent media outlets. If such an accident had occurred, it would have been reported or telecast by various mainstream media channels.
When we contacted Mr. Ashutosh Rout, a Delhi-based journalist, regarding this, he completely denied the incident. He said that if such an accident had occurred in this manner, it would surely have been covered.
If you observe it carefully, it is not possible for a heavy vehicle like a Jeep to hang for a long time from such a hoarding, as it is not capable of supporting that much weight. Therefore, we believe the video may have been digitally manipulated.
For further investigation, we took a screenshot and examined it using Hive Moderation tools.
The results showed a 99.9% probability that the content was AI-generated.
Hence we found, The viral claim that a Jeep Wrangler was found hanging upside down from a highway sign on the Delhi–Gurugram Expressway after falling off a transporter is false.
There is no credible evidence or official report confirming such an incident. The circulating video has been identified as AI-generated content and does not depict a real event.
