Fact check:

The claim is Misleading. The video is not after implementation of Stree Shakti free bus service.

When we extracted keyframes from the viral video and searched using reverse image search, we found that the video was shared by an Instagram account named Eluru official on July 25, 2025, with the caption “We request APSRTC to take immediate action and ensure buses halt at the college stop.
Let’s raise our voice for a small change that makes a big difference! Every student deserves a safe ride to college & student safety is not ignored. It’s a humble request to higher authorities of Eluru to kindly look into this problem and Take necessary measures. Following the concerns raised regarding the non-stoppage of buses at Sir C.R. Reddy Engineering College, Vatluru, APSRTC has Issued clear instructions to ensure resolution. Instructions issued to all Depot Managers under Eluru, Krishna, and surrounding Depots to ensure stoppage of all buses plying towards at Sir C.R. Reddy Engineering College, Vatluru. Depot Managers are directed to exhibit notice boards regarding the stoppage at the college for clear communication to staff and passengers. Depots have been cautioned to implement the directive without fail, or else stringent action will be initiated. Thank you @apsrtc_official

The text on the video shared is “Serious Safety issue for students, Everyday, students are struggling as the bus doesn’t stop at CRR college”.

Apsrtc official Instagram handle also commented on this post and stated that directives have been issued to ensure the stopping of the buses near CRR college.

We also found a post by fact checking division of Andhra Pradesh government stating that it is a fake campaign. Some people are spreading malicious fake propaganda about the free bus travel scheme for women in Andhra Pradesh, called Sthree Shakti. In reality, that video is related to an issue at a college on July 25. They are using that photo to spread false propaganda. Therefore, no one should believe such campaigns. RTC buses are available to every woman in the state. Legal action is being taken against those spreading such fake propaganda and those sharing these posts.

According to the article published on the Indian express, The Stree Shakti scheme, providing free travel to women in RTC buses, launched on Friday, August 15, 2025, by the coalition government, has become a grand success, with over 12 lakh women passengers travelling within 30 hours

Therefore, the viral video showing the RTC bus not stopping properly in the bus stop, leaving several women students behind is not recent, after the launch of the ‘Stree Shakti’ free bus service in Andhra Pradesh. So there is no relation between the video clip and the free bus scheme being implemented. The claim is Misleading.
