Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Karnataka to attend multiple programmes in Mandya and Hubbali-Dharwad. He inaugurated several development projects. After that, he delivered speech at a public rally at Hubbali-Dharwad.

Meanwhile, an image of his convoy is in circulation with a claim that there was none to hear to Modi during his road show en route. The claim viral in Kannada language goes as “ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ತಲೆಗೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಮೋದಿ ರ್ಯಾಲಿಗೆ ಜನ ಸೇರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.. ಮಂಡ್ಯದವರು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು..”

When translated, it claims: “Even though the corrupt BJP government called people by paying thousand per head, people never joined the Modi rally. People of Mandya have self-respect.”

Fact check:

The claim is false.

When we searched the details about the visit of Indian PM Modi to Karnataka and his road show, we found a video shared by the PM on his Twitter handle showing the highlights of his tour.

This video shows a lot of followers attending the events and even showering flowers on Modi.

We also found that a video of PM Modi’s roadshow was tweeted by ANI where we can see several people standing to greet him.

Video of his roadshow was also published by the Economic Times with the description “PM Modi receives grand welcome during his roadshow in Karnataka’s Belagavi. Over 5,000 police officials have been deployed around this area.”

This was published by the Times of India too describing as follows: “thousands of people line up along the streets of Mandya to extend welcome.”

Therefore, the claim that no one attended Modi’s roadshow is false.
