Liberation front of Afghan
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations during the ongoing BRICS summit. The issue of the menace of terrorism was raised by Indian Prime Minister Modi in a session on peace and security. He thanked the member countries for strongly condemning the Pahalgam attack and expressing solidarity with India. After the Pahalgam attack that occurred in April 2025, even the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, a video claiming to show the activists of the Liberation Front of Afghanistan is in circulation on social media. The persons in the video, with their faces completely covered with masks, can be heard saying that Pahalgam is not yet avenged and they will not stop until every ISI-sponsored fighter is eliminated.

Fact Check:
The claim is false. The video is an old one in circulation since 2022.
When we extracted keyframes from the viral video and searched them using reverse image search, we found that the video has been online since 2022.
We found a video published on February 5, 2022, on a YouTube channel named Kabul MAN, with the caption “یک جبهه نظامي دیگر به نام جبهه ازادی افغانستان شروع به فعالیت ضد طالبان کرد.” When translated, it states: ‘Another military front, the Afghan Liberation Front, began anti-Taliban activities.’
We also found an X user stating that the audio of the video has been manipulated and the real audio is completely different:
Upon further search, a website named Shia News Association shared a screenshot from the viral video published on February 3, 2022, stating that another anti-Taliban military front called the "Afghanistan Liberation Front" has announced its existence. According to Afghanistan's Shafaqna News Agency, this front said in a video that women in this land do not enjoy human rights. They talk about standing up to the Taliban.
An article published on Afghanistan International, on February 4, 2022, states that the anti-Taliban military front called the Afghan Freedom Front announced its presence. In a video, the front said that the Taliban's actions in arresting journalists, free women and protesters, and the situation of women were among the reasons for their uprising. The military front said that it was not affiliated with the Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud. The National Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud and the National Resistance Council of Afghanistan, with a group of political and jihadi figures, have already announced their presence. Both of them also have political and military sections. The Afghan Freedom Front, however, appears to have only a military wing. The coherent and precise text of the declaration suggests that the group is likely aware of its strategy and aspirations.
We also found a Facebook page Liberation Front AFG, which had shared the viral video on February 4, 2022.
Hence, the viral video of the Afghan Liberation Front is not related to the Pahalgam terror attack. The video is an old one from the year 2022.
