Rashtrapati bhavan, the most coveted place in the world's largest democracy, India. It is now the homw to the 15th President of India, Droupadi Murmu. She the first President of tribal descent, Her cultural bachground and modest living had made many curious about the changes she is going to make in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, leading to many rumours.

One such post is being shared virally on social media, claiming that the menu of the Rashtrapati Bhavan has changed completely to vegetarian and Non-veg food has been banned, even for the guests. The post says "Ban on any kind of non-vegetarian feast or drink in Rashtrapati Bhavan"

The claim that Non-vegetarian food is being banned in Rashtrapati bhavan according to instructions of present President of India Droupadi Murmu is FALSE.

When searched, though there have been articles about Indian President Droupadi Murmu eating strict vegetarian food, without garlic and onion. But we did not find any such new instructions given by the president of not serving Non-vegetarian food in any dinners. We did not find any press release made in this direction in recent times.

According to reports, President Murmu had turned vegetarian in 2006 and relishes only satvik food.

There have also been reports that Odisha cuisine is going to be an integral part of the menu in Rashtrapati bhavan. Her favourite 'Pakhala', a cooked rice dish, fermented in water with spices. Also, dishes like Sajana Saga, made of drumstick leaves and Aloo Bharta, a mashed potato dish are going to be part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan menu.

According to an article published in aajtak, the Rashtrapati Bhavan prepares food keeping in mind the preferences of its domestic and foreign guests. They are not forced to eat any particular food.
