Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan recently conducted a significant three-day program titled ‘Senatho Senani’ in Visakhapatnam. The event, held from 28 to 30 August 2025, was aimed at outlining the party’s future roadmap and strengthening its organizational structure. On August 30, Kalyan addressed party cadres and supporters at the public meeting organized at the Indira Priyadarshini stadium.
Amidst this, a video began circulating widely on social media platforms, showing Pawan Kalyan waving a flag with red and yellow colors. Users claimed that the flag belonged to TVK (Tamilaga Vetri Kalagam), the party launched by Tamil actor Vijay. Several captions in Telugu alleged that Kalyan was waving the TVK party flag and even wearing the party scarf. One viral caption, when translated, suggested that Pawan Kalyan had started a party only to carry the flags of other parties.
Here is the archive link of the claim.
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The flag waved by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is not the TVK party flag. It is the unofficial flag of Karnataka (also known as the Kannada flag). When we searched for more images of the same flag seen in the viral video, we found posts on X identifying it as the Karnataka/Kannada flag.
An X post also clarified the same.
Further, a post by Gulte confirmed that Pawan Kalyan was holding both the Karnataka flag and the Jana Sena flag during the Senatho Senani program. In his speech at the same event, Pawan Kalyan stated that the Jana Sena will one day become a national party.
When we searched about the event ‘Senatho Senani’ held at Visakhapatnam, we found a live-streamed video on August 30, 2025, on the YouTube channel of the Janasena party. The unofficial flag of Karnataka carries the same colors as the one seen in Kalyan’s hand. Here is the comparison.
We found some news articles that shared the Karnataka Flag, which shows the same colours as the flag waved by the Janasena leader. Hence, the viral video shows Pawan Kalyan waving the Unofficial Kannada/ Karnataka flag, not the TVK party flag. The claim is False.
