Fact Check: Modi’s image wearing a skull cap during inauguration of an Arabic Academy is edited

A set of two photos reportedly showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing a skull cap is viral on Twitter. The photos are reportedly from Feb 10, 2023, when Modi inaugurated the Mumbai campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy.

FACT CHECK:

On Feb 10, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde tweeted pictures from the event. In none of these, can we see Modi wearing a skull cap. In fact, we found the same picture of Modi with no cap. Clearly, the viral images were edited.

Even in the pictures posted by Modi, we cannot see him wearing a skull cap.

Evidently, the viral pictures were edited to pass on a false narrative.
