Andhra Pradesh is going for Assembly polls simultaneously with Lok Sabha Elections in the next few days. Elections to the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats will be held in the fourth phase of the general elections 2024 on May 13. In 2019, Jagan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party swept the Assembly polls winning 151 seats. The party also won 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2019 general elections. The opposition parties including TDP, BJP, and Janasena formed an alliance for this election to give tough competition to the ruling YSRC.

Amidst this, a video of AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy speaking with a shrieky voice during a public meeting while campaigning is going viral with the claim that he is crying during his speech to gain the sympathy of the public. In the viral video, AP CM is heard saying ‘It is doubtful that the elections will be conducted smoothly. They are changing the officials as they wish, and poor people are not getting the necessary benefits. All this is happening to stop me from coming to power again” in Telugu.
