Sometimes, after watching certain videos, one can’t help but wonder whether they actually depict real incidents or not. Nowadays, videos created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) are going viral on social media at an alarming rate. Moreover, visuals taken from films or shows are also being circulated as though they were real events.

One such video showing a woman with burn injuries on her face has been going viral on social media platforms. It is being shared with the claim that it depicts a Love Jihad incident.

"Another Hindu girl destroyed by Abdul’s love. This girl married Abdul Adil Khan in 2023, changed her name from Nandini Mandal to Zara Islam, and converted to Islam. Many Hindus tried to convince her not to go ahead with the marriage, but she refused to listen. She was completely immersed in Abdul’s love. She became popular on social media. Many people tried to persuade her, saying ‘You have money, fame, and everything. Don’t destroy yourself. Abdul will betray you, deceive you. Please understand and stay away from him.’ But she ignored their words and even threatened to file cases against those advising her. She said ‘My Abdul loves me more than his life. Don’t interfere in my matters; I can handle everything myself.’ Now, from 2023 to 2025, Abdul fulfilled his desires, exploited this girl in every possible way, and has now beaten her and thrown her out of the house. Look at her current condition in this photo.’"

Fact-Checking

The viral posts do not have any religious angle. The visuals actually belong to a Bangladeshi film.

When we conducted a reverse image search, we came across the Instagram account @joutyislamm, where the same posters and visuals seen in the viral posts were found.
A post dated December 26, 2024, carries the following caption written in Bengali:

"বিধবা বউ"
আজ বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুর ৩ টায়
Choice View Media ইউটিউব চ্যানেলে!

Mohin Khan
Tuhin Chowdhury
Alamin Hosen Najim
Shuvojit Roy
Khaled Hosain Jahid
Sahela Akter

This confirms that it is a promotional poster for a Bangladeshi film. Several posts related to the same film were found on the same account. From the posters, it is evident that the name of the movie is “Bidhoba Bou” (translated as Widowed Wife).

Further, on the same Instagram account, a reel was posted on October 21, 2025, with the caption:

“জীবনে সব কিছুর পিছনে একটা অজানা গল্প থাকে ,গল্পটা কেউ জানতে বা বুজতে চাইনা 🥲🥲 #foryoupagereels #joutyislam #BTS #BanglaNatok #shooting”

This indicates that the visuals including the one showing the woman with burn injuries were part of the film’s shooting.

Earlier, on October 11, the same account had shared the same video again:

In one of her Facebook posts, the same actress clarified that the viral clip was indeed part of a film shoot, not a real incident. The relevant screenshot is available below for reference.

Later, on November 3, the same account posted another message addressing the false claims being spread about her:

“When I woke up, I saw that my name had been changed to Nandini Mandal and Tuhin Chowdhury. My family, friends, and colleagues are still receiving these kinds of false messages. This should not happen. Please stop spreading fake information. Do not create unnecessary issues related to religion.”

Therefore, the viral posts claiming that a Hindu girl named Nandini Mandal married Abdul Adil Khan, converted to Islam, and was later assaulted are completely false.
