Fact Check: Edited Video of Telangana CM Shared with False Claim Urging Voters Not to Support Congress

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for a number of development works in the Alair assembly constituency, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. The projects aim to significantly boost infrastructure and public amenities in the region. Among the major projects for which foundation stones were laid is the Gandhamalla reservoir, a crucial undertaking with an estimated cost of ₹574.56 crore. CM also initiated the construction of a Young India Residential School, a project valued at ₹200 crore, emphasizing the government’s focus on education, and a medical college building at a cost of ₹183 crore, promising enhanced healthcare facilities for the area. Addressing a public gathering in Turkapally village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, the Chief Minister attacked the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) fiercely, branding it as DRS – Dayyala Rajya Samithi.

Meanwhile, a video clip of the CM’s speech in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district is going viral with the claim that the Chief Minister of Telangana accepted his mistakes and told the audience not to vote for him in the next election, as he made several mistakes. The caption shared along with the video in Telugu goes as: “బ్రేకింగ్ న్యూస్. తెలంగాణ మహిళలను పిలుపునిచ్చిన రేవంత్ రెడ్డి - వచ్చే ఎలక్షన్స్ లో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి ఓట్లు వెయ్యకండి”. When translated, it claims: “Breaking News. Revanth Reddy calls on Telangana women — Don't vote for the Congress party in the upcoming elections.”

The claim is false. The video has been edited to make a false claim by miscreants. We found the viral part of the video at 18:40 minutes in the video published by Telangana CMO, which was published on June 6, 2025, with the title ‘CM Revanth Reddy: Institutions to Be Upgraded to University under YTDA | Alair Gandhamalla Reservoir’.

When we further searched for Telangana CM’s speech in Alair, Yadagirigutta, which was livestreamed by several Telugu TV channels, we found a longer video live-streamed by V6 News with the title: ‘LIVE: CM Revanth Reddy Public Meeting In Alair | Yadagirigutta | V6 News’. When we checked the live stream published by the Telugu TV channel V6 Telugu, we found the viral part of the video after 7:28 minutes, where the CM is heard stating that the government employees were not paid properly and on time during the previous government's rule. However, the present government is paying them salaries on time every month. He added that if anyone proves that the previous government had paid the salaries of government employees on time every month, then the audience need not vote for him during the next elections.

The Twitter handle of the Government of Telangana (@factcheck_TG) has debunked the viral video and stated that the clipped video of Hon’ble Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is being circulated with false claims that he urged people not to vote for him in the next elections. The fact is that the video is selectively edited to mislead the public.
In reality, the Chief Minister was highlighting how salaries were delayed under the previous government, whereas the current administration ensures that salaries are credited on the 1st of every month.
