The caption in Telugu goes as “చంద్రబాబుకు అవసరమైనప్పుడు.. తప్పకుండా అడుగుపెడతాడు”, when translated, it claims that she said “when Chandrababu Naidu desires, he will enter politics”

When we searched using keywords relating to YS Raja Reddy’s entry into politics, we found another video of YS Sharmila where she can be heard stating that YSRCP party members are becoming unrest even before her son has entered the politics. Some people have morphed the video of her and added Chandrababu Naidu in her statement, to spread a false claim.

According to TV9 telugu article, Sharmila has publicly announced that her son will enter politics when the time comes. With this, Sharmila's followers believe that Raja Reddy is YSR's heir. Trolls have also started from a section on social media on this. YS Sharmila reacted strongly to this. She clarified that YS Raja Reddy is the true political heir of YSR and there is no doubt about this.

“My son has not even stepped into politics yet. If the YSRCP is creating such a mess before he even steps in… is this fear? Or a threat? Only they know. My father YSR himself named my son ‘YS Raja Reddy’. No matter how much the YSRCP cries and puts up obstacles, no one can change this name,” Sharmila said firmly. Chandrababu Naidu said that a video was being morphed and promoted as if he is bringing her son into politics… Sharmila said that she laughed after seeing it.

Before accompanying his mother, during her visit to Kurnool, Mr. Raja Reddy took the blessing from Y.S. Vijayamma, widow of former CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and mother of Sharmila at their residence in Hyderabad. Mr. Raja Reddy is the nephew of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his much-talked entry into politics gains significance as the brother-sister duo are embroiled in a serious family and political fight.

When we extracted keyframes from the viral video and searched to check the statement made by YS Sharmila, we found a video Live streamed on Facebook page of Indian National Congress – Andhra Pradesh, we can see her stating that her son will enter politics when necessary, and there is no mention of Chandra babu Naidu anywhere in her statement.

Hence, the claim that in the video, YS Sharmila can be heard saying that her son, Raja Reddy will enter politics when Chandra Babu will need him is False. The viral video is an edited one.
