TDP demands regularisation of grama sachivalaya staff

Rafi advised the Government to give probation in accordance with the demand of these 1.32 lakh employees without causing further suffering and anguish.The Chief Minister and his Ministers spoke sweet words to these employees in the past only to push them in a deep personal and career crisis.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader recalled how the CM promised to increase the sachivalaya staff salaries to Rs. 26,000 and above from October 2, the day of Gandhi Jayanthi. Many months have passed but the promised pay scales were not being given to them. Moreover, new problems were being created for these employees.

Rafi criticised the ruling YSRCP leaders for breaking their promise by saying that the probation would be given to the sachivalaya staff after June. What happened to the sweet talk made by the CM about the bright future to these employees in his Government. From the beginning, the YCP Government has been harassing all sections of employees with its oppressive policies.

The TDP leader questioned the rationale behind the Government conducting examinations for the sachivalaya staff to get eligibility for pay scales. Such a clause was not included in the job notification given for them. The probation examinations were being made tough in order to eliminate the qualified candidates. All sorts of arbitrary tactics were being used.

Rafi strongly objected to the one day salary cut for the sachivalaya staff just for holding protests against the injustice done by the Government. It was unfortunate that the present rulers were setting their eyes even on the salaries of the employees. Moreover, these staff were being asked to work even on Sankranti holidays as a punishment for holding protests.

The TDP leader said that the sachivalaya staff were getting just Rs. 15,000 monthly. They had to spend about Rs. 500 of this towards stationery and vehicle expenses. The Government was adopting vague policies in respect of grama and ward volunteers, who were either leaving or resorting to illegal activities.
