Naidu urges DGP to restrain 'Jungle Raj'

AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday urged the DGP to act tough so as to prevent Andhra Pradesh from becoming the country's 'most feared hotbed of crimes and criminals'.

In a 5-page detailed letter to the DGP here, Naidu demanded stern action against the culprits in the latest ghastly crimes perpetrated at G. Kothapalli, Srikalahasti, Tadepalli, Repalle railway station, Donakonda and other places.
The TDP chief said the State witnessed complete breakdown of law and order under the lawless rule of 'Jungle Raj' since June, 2019. People were living in constant fear and insecurity. They were suffering heavy losses of lives, property and dignity. The ruling YSRCP goons were committing murders and molestations with impunity.
Naidu told the DGP that the 3-year 'Jungle Raj' has only stood out for non-stop rapes and murders, encroachments and land grabs, and indiscriminate mafia activities in liquor, sand, mining, ganja and drugs. The YCP leaders promoted liquor, ganja and drugs, triggering an increased crime rate.
Chandrababu Naidu deplored that the Government's complacency had further fuelled crimes and emboldened the ruling party goons. This has caused a steady rise in violence and atrocities on women. In the past three days, several incidents of violence, atrocities against women, robbery, verbal abuse, illegal and nefarious activities took place across the State.
Condemning the Government's indifference, the TDP chief said no prompt action was taken when on 30th April 2022, 58-year-old Ganji Prasad was murdered in broad day light in G.Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal. No doubt, the ruling YSRCP leaders executed the murder thus bringing the culture of faction killings to the otherwise peaceful place like Eluru district.
Naidu pointed out that Ganji Prasad's wife Satyavati has accused YSRCP MLA Talari Venkat Rao and his henchmen of murdering her husband. The villagers attacked the YCP MLA who was rescued only by the police. In Srikalahasti, the YSRCP leaders undermined democracy and attacked the TDP leaders in order to prevent them from filing nomination papers of Milk Cooperative Society elections on 30th April 2022.
Chandrababu Naidu told the DGP that Sakshi reporter Nagi Reddy attacked a senior citizen and misbehaved with a woman in Tadepalli on 29th April 2022 regarding a land dispute. It happened in close proximity to the Chief Minister's residence and the State Police Headquarters (DGP Office).
The TDP chief demanded stringent action in the atrocious acts against woman in Vijayawada Government General Hospital (GGH) and brutal murder of a woman in Tummapudi village, Duggirala mandal. On the night of 30th April 2022, a migrant Dalit worker from Prakasam district was raped in Repalle railway station.
Naidu deplored that a YSRCP leader molested a Dalit married woman aged about 22 years in Polepalli SC Colony, Donakonda mandal, Prakasam district. A step father has been sexually molesting minor daughter aged about 17 years and made her pregnant in Machilipatnam. The burnt dead body of a woman aged around 20-25 years was found near Bethanapalli in Pedatadivadi panchayat, Denkada mandal in Vizianagaram district on 30th April 2022.
