AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Thursday expressed concern that the YSRCP Government was not responding to the inhuman incidents taking place at the Government hospitals in the State.

Lokesh said the staff at the Udayagiri Government Hospital in Nellore district demanded Rs. 15,000 for holding a post mortem. They stuck to their demand despite knowing the inability of the poor family to pay it.
In a statement here, Nara Lokesh deplored that the Government's attitude was not changing though ghastly incidents were taking place on a daily basis. Another inhuman incident took place at Sangam in Nellore district. A poor father had to shift the dead body of his son on the bike to his home from the hospital.
Lokesh said the poor man had pleaded with the hospital staff for an ambulance but they did not respond. Left with no choice, he carried the body of his son Sri Ram on his shoulders on a bike. It held a mirror to the ruthless activities of the ambulance mafia all over the State.
The TDP MLC recalled how the ambulance operators perpetrated atrocities at the Tirupati Ruia Hospital. The Talli Bidda Express vehicles mafia had even attacked a poor family at the maternity ward of the Visakhapatnam KGH. In Sangham, nobody came forward to help the poor father though he was already in deep pain over the death of his son.
Nara Lokesh demanded Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to explain to the people where hundreds of ambulances he flagged off had gone. The ambulance mafia activities started only after the operation of these services was handed over to YCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy's son-in-law.
Lokesh asked whether Jagan Reddy had reviewed the status of ambulance services at least once. Shortage of staff and amenities at the Government hospitals was causing severe suffering to the public. The YCP Government's indifference was the reason for the deterioration in hospital services.
The TDP MLC said that all sections of people were suffering because of the wrong policies of the ruling YSRCP. All funds were being diverted for the ruling party mafia while hospitals, roads, ambulances and other services were totally neglected.
