Maulana Arshad Madani filed a petition seeking a permanent ban on the release of the film, as it promotes hate speech, targets a particular community, and could incite communal tensions.
Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows a massive protest carried out by the Muslim community and will incite communal tensions. The video shows people taking a rally and shouting Islamic slogans. The text ‘Boycott Udaipur Files’ is added at the top of the video.

The claim is Misleading. The viral video is not related to the movie Udaipur Files. It shows a rally held in Tamil Nadu in April 2025.
When we extracted keyframes from the viral video and checked the banner seen in the video, we found that the banner written in Tamil states: ‘Protest in Krishnagiri Town demanding withdrawal of Waqf Amendment Bill and condemning the BJP government.’
Then we performed a reverse image search and found older versions of the video on social media. A YouTube video shared by a channel named JS Vlog on April 14, 2025, with the title ‘Waqf bill protest, Rejected bill Krishnagiri district protest’
A Facebook page named Krishnagiri Officials also shared the viral video with the caption Waqf bill protest in Krishnagiri. Krishnagiri District All Jamaath and District Ulemas Federation organised a massive protest opposing the passing of the Waqf Amendment Act here in Krishnagiri.
