More than 240 people were killed in a disastrous plane accident when an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed moments after takeoff in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 242 passengers, of which 169 were Indian nationals, 53 were British, seven were Portuguese, and one was Canadian. The crash occurred between 1 pm and 2 pm Indian Time, with the aircraft reportedly losing altitude soon after takeoff. One passenger in seat 11A of the aircraft miraculously survived the crash. The plane reached approximately 625 feet before it suddenly descended and crashed in a residential area. It struck a hostel building where medical students were having their lunch at the time. This hostel is a mess, located near a medical college. Right after the crash, scary visuals showing a huge cloud of black smoke emerged from the crash site.
Soon after this incident, a few unrelated videos started circulating on social media platforms, attributing them to the plane crash in Ahmedabad. One such video showing a huge cloud of black smoke and fire engines arriving at the site is in circulation on social media with the claim that it shows the plane crash incident.
