S President Donald Trump has criticised American technology companies like Google, Microsoft and Apple for hiring professionals from India and outsourcing manufacturing to China. Speaking at a summit in Washington, he urged them to focus on creating more jobs for Americans. Microsoft conducted significant layoffs in both May and July of 2025. In May, they eliminated approximately 6,000 positions. This was followed by another round of cuts in July, impacting around 9,000 employees. These layoffs are part of Microsoft's restructuring efforts and are not solely related to performance issues, according to CEO Satya Nadella. The July cuts were particularly focused on the sales division and other customer-facing roles. The layoffs in July were part of a broader restructuring strategy tied to Microsoft's increased investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to multiple sources. Microsoft is also reportedly investing heavily in AI infrastructure. The company has stated that the restructuring is meant to better position the company for success in the evolving marketplace.

When we extracted the keyframes from the video and searched them using reverse image search, we found an Instagram video shared on February 19, 2025, with the caption ‘Work, good food, and pretty views at Microsoft Hyderabad 👩🏽💻🫰🏼’.
We can also see that the user shared video credit to @mansiisinghal. When we searched Mansi Singhal’s Instagram account, we could not find the viral video on her timeline. But we could find the screenshot of the post, shared here.
We also found her Youtube channel, which shares more videos in Hyderabad city.
When searched for videos on Microsoft office at Hyderabad, we found a few more videos showing the interior of the Microsoft office in Hyderabad.
We also found an article published in New York Post, that talks about the video posted by Mansi Singhal, after it went viral. It states that Mansi Singhal, a 24-year-old software engineer, has gone viral several times over after she revealed what a day in her life at a Microsoft office — where she works in Hyderabad, India — looks like in an Instagram reel. Between a 45-minute breakfast break, a dessert run and a quick gaming interlude, Singhal’s representation of office life has many people baffled and wondering when she gets any work done — while being simultaneously jealous of the wild variety of snack offerings.
Hence, viral video showing Microsoft office is not from the United States of America, it is from the Hyderabad Campus of Microsoft. The claim that Microsoft is replacing all the American workers in their offices with the Indian professionals is False.
