Fact Check: Viral Image Claiming BJP MP Cash Seizure Shows ED Raid on Karnataka Congress MLA's casino
An image showing enormous amount of cash in bundles, piled up on a table is going viral on social media with the claim

Claim :
Viral image shows a huge amount of cash recovered from a Bharatiya Janata Party MPFact :
The image shows cash seized from Congress MLA belonging to Karnataka, not BJP MP
An image showing piles of cash in bundles, neatly stacked on a table, has gone viral on social media. It is being shared with the claim that the money was recovered from a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP. One caption on X (formerly Twitter) read: “Enormous cash recovered from one BJP MP. What will happen to the BJP MP? Your guess is as good as mine!”
Here is the archive link of the claim.
Fact Check
The claim is false. The viral image does not show cash recovered from any BJP MP. Instead, it shows money seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during raids on properties linked to Karnataka Congress MLA KC Veerendra, also known as “Puppy.”
When a reverse image search was performed, several credible news reports appeared with the same photo, confirming the seizure. According to News18 Bengali, KC Veerendra was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in Sikkim in connection with his alleged involvement in illegal online and offline betting. He had reportedly taken land on lease in Gangtok for a casino project. Following his arrest, ED conducted raids at about 30 locations linked to him. These raids led to the recovery of ₹12 crore in cash, ₹1 crore in foreign currency, gold ornaments worth ₹6 crore, silver items weighing around 10 kg, and four vehicles.
The viral photo showing stacks of cash is misleadingly shared as if it were recovered from a BJP MP. In reality, the money was seized by the ED during raids on properties of Congress MLA KC Veerendra from Karnataka, linked to a massive illegal betting racket.
