The current coalition Government, led by Telugu Desam Party has campaigned on a “Super Six” package of poll promises. These promises include Creation of 20 lakh jobs, the coalition government promised to create 20 lakh jobs for educated and skilled youth. For those who remain unemployed, an allowance of ₹3,000 per month will be provided. Second one is Financial assistance for women (Adabidda Nidhi), Eligible women will receive ₹1,500 per month. The scheme is available for residents aged 18 to 59. Next one is Financial support for mothers (Thalliki Vandanam), under this scheme, underprivileged women will receive ₹15,000 annually to help with their children's education.
Assistance for farmers (Annadata Sukhibava) is the fourth, eligible farmers will receive financial assistance of ₹20,000 per year. This includes the ₹6,000 provided by the Central government. The other two promises are free LPG cylinders (Deepam 2.0), where in the eligible families will receive three free LPG cylinders annually. And free bus travel for women, where the women can travel free of charge on Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses. Among these promises, Annadata Sukhibhava, Talliki vandanam, Deepam 2.0 and free bus travel for women are being implemented in the state. But the unemployment allowance is still pending along with aadabidda nidhi scheme.
Amidst this, questioning the government for not creating jobs for the unemployed youth, some social media users have shared a Governmnet Order that seems to be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The users are also seen mentioning that the GO number as RT.NO.1575, dated 29.08.2025. The GO letter is in circulation with caption “ఉద్యోగుల రిటైర్మెంట్ వయసు 62 నుంచి 65 కి పెంచే ఉద్దేశంతో మంత్రుల కమిటీ ఏర్పాటు చేస్తూ జీఓ జారీ చేశారు. నిరుద్యోగుల ఆశలపై నీళ్లు చల్లిన కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం.” when translated it claims that the committee of ministers has been formed with the intention of increasing the retirement age of employees from 62 to 65, and a Government Order (GO) has been issued. Fact check:
The claim is False. Andhra Pradesh Government did not issue any such GO on August 29, 2025.
When we performed keyword search for any news articles about such drastic change made by AP government, we did not find any articles on this issue. A post on X clarified that the GO in circulation is fake. The actual GO #1545 issued on August 22, 2025 shows that the actual suggestion was to increase the retirement age from 60 to 62 years for public sector employees. According to Telangana Today, Government of Andhra Pradesh rubbished the fake Government order circulating on social media that the AP government has increased the retirement age from 60 to 65 years.
When searched further, we found articles stating that AndhraPradesh government has constituted a three-member Group of Ministers (GoM) to examine enhancing the age of superannuation of regular employees working in government institutions / societies / corporations included in the IX and X Schedules of the AP Bifurcation Act, 2014, to 62 years from 60 years. Chief Secretary K Vijayanand issued a GO in this regard.

When translated it states that the G.O. is false and fabricated and not issued by the Government. It further stated that the employees and the public at large are advised to not be misled by this false G.O. 15. The Government is taking steps for filing an FIR for taking criminal action against the perpetrators as per the law. G.O. (pdf file named as GO MS NO15. ANDHRA PRADESH) mentions that the age of retirement of Government employees is raised from 62 years to 65 years is under circulation. No such G.O. has been issued by the Finance Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh,” the government fact check official Twitter account- FactCheck.AP.Gov.in stated in its tweet.
Hence, the viral message claiming that Andhra Pradesh government has issued GO to increase the retirement age of Public sector employees is False. No such GO has been passed. Original Go passed on August 22, 2025 states that the Government is examining the proposal of enhancement of the retirement age from 60 to 62 years. The claim is False.
