Emergency sirens have been triggered in Chandigarh and Patiala on 9th May morning amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The alerts comes just hours after India thwarted a missile and drone attack by Pakistan on 3 military bases.
As per the published article, An Air warning has been received from Air force station of possible attack. Sirens are being sounded. All are advised to remain indoors and away from balconies," the Chandigarh DC said in its advisory.
Residents in Patiala district were also advised to remain indoors and stay calm. The district also announced a closure of all educational institutional until further.
"All residents of District Patiala are requested to remain indoors and stay calm. Please avoid stepping out unless it is absolutely necessary. All educational institutions in the district are closed until further notice," the Patiala deputy commissioner said.
Amid this, a video went viral on social media. The video was claimed to show footage of the Explosions were reportedly heard at Jaipur Airport.

We also found that the same footage was shared by Times Now but was later deleted.

The claim is false. The Jaipur District Magistrate has confirmed that the airport is completely safe.
When we investigated the claim, we found no evidence of it being reported by any major media outlet. If such a massive attack had actually happened at Jaipur Airport and the video were genuine, it is likely that major news networks would have covered it.
During the reverse image search, we found that the Ministry of Difference's official social media account had shared the same video with the fake stamp on it. The video was posted with the text: 'This claim is false. Jaipur Airport is completely safe.'
When we visited the official social media account of the DM Jaipur, they posted: 'This claim is misleading. Jaipur Airport is completely safe.' In the post, they included a screenshot of the news published by Times Now.
We also found Times Now's acknowledgment in the comment section of the DM Jaipur post.
In the acknowledgment, Times Now mentioned, 'We acknowledge an inadvertent error in our recent post. We regret the mistake and sincerely apologize for any confusion caused. The post has been deleted'.
