Fact Check:
The claim that the visuals show a real on-field clash between Indian and Pakistani women cricketers is false. The video in question has been found to be AI-generated.
To verify the viral claim, we did a keyword search on India - Pakistan match. The search revealed that no India–Pakistan women’s cricket matches have taken place recently. The two teams last faced each other during the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, and there were no credible reports of any physical altercation during that tournament.
A closer examination of the viral visuals reveals several spelling errors and technical inconsistencies, particularly on the players’ jerseys. After Dream11, Apollo Tyres became the lead sponsor of the Indian cricket team for a period of two and a half years, from September 2025 to March 2028. As per the sponsorship agreement, the Apollo Tyres logo must appear on the jerseys of both the Indian men’s and women’s national teams across all formats. However, in the viral video, the Indian player’s jersey displays the name Byju’s, and even that is misspelled. Byju’s was the official sponsor of the Indian cricket team only between September 2019 and 2023.
Further discrepancies were observed on the Pakistani team’s jersey. The word “Pakistan” contains spelling errors, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) logo is inaccurately depicted. Additionally, at the exact moment when the Pakistani player appears to fall, a green helmet suddenly appears near her leg, further indicating that the visuals are AI-generated.
To confirm these findings, the video was analysed using Hive Moderation, a commonly used AI-detection tool. The analysis revealed that most portions of the video were AI-generated.
The visuals alleging an on-field clash between Indian and Pakistani women cricketers are not authentic. The viral video was created using artificial intelligence.
