E-paper clipping of Telangana Scribe reported that more than ₹5 crore worth of old notes (₹2000 denomination) were found in KCR’s farmhouse.Fact :
The claim is False. There is no e-paper named Telangana Scribe, and no such report is found online.
As of April 1, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported that approximately 98.21% of the ₹2,000 denomination banknotes withdrawn from circulation have been returned to the banking system. Despite being withdrawn in May 2023, ₹2000 notes worth more than ₹6,000 crore are still in circulation. While most of the notes have been returned to the banking system, the RBI continues to accept them at its issue offices. People can deposit or exchange ₹2000 notes up to a limit of ₹20,000 at a time.
Meanwhile, an e-paper with the logo of Telangana Scribe, resembling a newspaper clipping, is circulating on social media with the claim that more than ₹5 crore worth of ₹2000 notes were found in the farmhouse of K. Chandrashekar Rao, BRS party leader.
The caption on the viral image in Telugu reads:
“ఫాంహౌజ్లో బయటపడ్డ పాత నోటు!

●సమాచారం అందడంతో హుటాహుటిన ఫాంహౌజ్కు చేరుకున్న జోగినిపల్లి సంతోష్ రావు.

When we searched for news related to money found in KCR’s farmhouse, we did not find any reports—either in Telugu or English—about such an incident. We also did not find any Telangana Scribe e-paper published on July 14, 2025.
When searched with the keywords ‘KCR farmhouse’, the latest news report found was published on April 10, 2025, on a YouTube channel named NTV with the title: ‘KCR leaves for Hyderabad from Erravelli farmhouse | NTV’

The viral e-paper clipping also shows the Twitter handle: https://www.x.com/telanganascribe . When we searched the X handle, we found the latest post was published on May 8, 2025, and was about Hyderabad demolitions. We also checked if the name Telangana Scribe has been registered with the Office of Registrar of Newspapers for India and found that the title is not registered. Here is the screenshot.
